Bangkok Pavements

Bangkok Pavements: "Photos by Anthony Margetts, 30 Sep 2010"
Bangkok pavements are amazing, they are a focal point for selling everything as well as meeting, talking, loitering, browsing, phoning, drinking, eating and even walking, but walking western style, ie A to B is greatly impeded by the meeting, talking, loitering, browsing, phoning, drinking, eating activity so dont try to rush !!

Sunday 26 September, Car Free day In Bangkok, some cyclists around the city amd lots of cars on some of the roads. Cycling is easy on a Sunday as the traffic is less but you still have watch out for killer buses which are like the alpine buses they never stop or slow down and on Sunday they go even faster as the traffic is less!!

Tiger Temple

Tiger Temple: "Photos by tonymargetts, 29 Aug 2010" Laura Prentice flew into Bangkok on 29 August and had asked me to arrange a trip to Tiger Temple in Kanchanburi. Although it is the rainy season and most days we have had some heavy rain on that day we had no rain and we certainly saw the Tigers. In 1996 the local monks had been given a two wild tiger cubs to look after as the local people hunted them and it was feared that maybe they would become extinct. Over the last 15 years they have build a big open zoo and encouraged visitor to help pay for the upkeep. It must be the only place in Asia where you can sit down with the tigers.
